About Mitzi

Having triumphantly overcome sexual abuse and rape through the guidance and wisdom found in God’s Word, Mitzi has dedicated herself to empowering others who have endured similar hardships. Her main purpose is to provide love, healing, and restoration to women who have suffered from childhood sexual abuse and teenage rape.

Raised in the inner city of Boston, Mitzi was born with an inquisitive nature about life’s toughest questions. It was God’s compassion that changed her life and gave her the courage and strength to help others. While attending Victory Christian Church International under the leadership of Pastors Dwayne and Kitt Brewington in Gaithersburg, Maryland, she accepted her God-given assignment to “bring those out of darkness.”

Her first book, In Jesus Name, Please Don’t Touch Me There (2006) shares her journey of how the Word of God saved her life and emphasizes that there is nothing you can’t overcome in Christ. In 2017, Mitzi self-published her second book, the Loved, Healed & Restored Daily Journal, which serves as an excellent tool for journaling and prayer. In addition to her books, Mitzi wrote the inspirational foreword for Real Divas Win and co-authored by sharing her story in the Grace FULL Seasons Book Anthology ~ In Everything There Is A Season.

As the founder of Loved, Healed and Restored LLC, Mitzi serves as a valuable community partner and outreach resource for individuals healing from childhood sexual abuse and rape. The organization’s vision is inspired by 1 Peter 2:9, which states, “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”

Loved, Healed and Restored LLC gives girls aged 8-18 a “Gift of Love” basket that includes toiletries and school supplies. Additionally, Mitzi is expanding her brand to include the sale of inspirational merchandise such as women’s t-shirts, mugs and pens. Her commitment lies in encouraging and empowering others by demonstrating that “there is recovery after every storm.”

Mitzi has given public presentations on sexual assault issues and statistics for training and awareness development. She volunteers as an event planner and facilitator, receiving praise for her spirit of excellence, commitment, dedication, and tireless devotion to survivors of sexual assault in their healing journey.

Since 2006, Mitzi has worked diligently as a Victim Advocate, primarily assisting victims of sexual assault. She is a passionate and inspiring speaker who uses her own traumatic experiences to advocate for sexual assault awareness. Mitzi has been involved with various organizations, including the Rape Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN) Speaker’s Bureau, the nation’s largest anti-sexual assault organization; Victim Assistance and Sexual Assault Program (VASAP); Victims In Need, Inc. (VIN) Board; and Christian Authors On Tour (CAOT).

Mitzi attends Jubilee Christian Church in Stoughton, Massachusetts under the spiritual guidance of the highly favored Pastor Matthew and Mona Thompson. She resides in Brockton, Massachusetts, and is married to her loving husband Jose. Together, they are the proud parents of three beautiful children and five adorable grandchildren.

Our commitment:
To provide community engagement by assisting girls to embrace their voice, make safe decisions with the ability to say no, create boundaries and trust in their own feelings.

Our assignment is to provide girls in the inner city of Boston (ages 8-18) with a “Gift of Love” basket including toiletries and/or school supplies (deodorant, lotion, soap, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, toothbrush, notebooks, pens, pencils, etc.).

Our prayer is that each girl is inspired to:
– Accept herself.
– Develop a sense of who she wants to be.
– Become a strong, positive, productive individual in society.

Excerpt from Book

“…I never felt pretty as a little girl, I always thought I was ugly. Although my mom made sure that I was dressed nicely and had my hair combed (hot combed), I still did not feel or look like I was a pretty girl. All through my childhood and teen years I felt dirty, used, invaluable, which I carried into my adult years. Growing up in poverty added to the bonus of worthlessness…”

“…Sexual abuse has a way of making you feel unworthy, useless and unclean. The repair starts inside out…”

“…As a child you are always taught to respect, trust, and obey ‘grown people’. But what do you do when ‘grown people’ do sexual things to you? Do you obey them when they tell you not to tell anyone or do you obey your mom when she tells you not to disrespect ‘grown people’ and do as they say?…”
